Pastor Glenn Gibson

Pastor Glenn Gibson is the newest member of the pastoral staff at the West Covina Hills SDA Church. Prior to coming here he had been working on his Masters degree at Andrews University Seminary, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1998. After finishing his Bachelor’s degree he and his wife, Melissa, lived in Portland, Oregon for two years where they were both teachers. Although Pastor Glenn enjoyed his time teaching Bible at Portland Adventist Academy, his passion has always been to pastor in a church. After living in Oregon, Pastor Glenn and Melissa moved to Southern California where he was the Youth Pastor at the Eagle Rock SDA Church for four years. He thoroughly enjoyed these years focusing on ministering to the youth in the church. Pastor Glenn's passion for youth ministry began while working at summer camp for eight summers. A time in his life which has provided many sermon illustrations which he enjoys sharing.

Pastor Glenn has a number of activities which he enjoys. These include hiking, camping/backpacking, HO model trains, mountain biking, golfing, reading, traveling, and his new favorite playing with his one year old son, Garrett. He also has several interests such as sailing, surfing, and white water kayaking which he hopes will one day be hobbies.

When you visit West Covina Hills you will most likely find Pastor Glenn in one of the children's or youth Sabbath School rooms. This is because he feels a real passion to share his best friend Jesus with young people. He also enjoys preaching and sharing his love for Jesus with the church in this way. One of the highlights of ministry for him is giving Bible studies and baptizing new members. In his own words, Pastor Glenn challenges, "everyone into a personal journey with God."
